However, we conduct interviews in the English language before the start of your German/French language course.

In order to work in Germany/Belgium as a nurse, you need a professional licence recognition. In order to obtain a professional licence recognition, your foreign nursing diploma/BSN/MSN must be recognised in the respective countries.
The states in Germany/Belgium will check whether your foreign nursing diploma is equivalent to the German/Belgian nursing profession. Your work experience in the profession is also important
- 09
If there are significant differences between the two certificates (your foreign diploma and the German/Belgian nursing certificate), you will be offered either a knowledge test or an adaptation course.
The knowledge test is organised and carried out by state-recognised schools in accordance with the Nursing Act. It consists of a practical examination (nursing situation of an in-patient) and an oral examination (based on nursing studies).
The adaptation course ends with a final practical and oral examination on the content of the course.
During the adaptation measures you will work as a nurse assistant until you have successfully completed the knowledge test or adaptation course.
- 10
It is important to note that the adaptation measures take place during working hours.
You will work as a nursing assistant until the end of the adaptation measure (adaptation course or knowledge test) and will receive your gross monthly salary of approximately €2,600 - €2,800 plus allowances.
- 11
Your GROSS monthly salary as a recognized nurse is 3100 Euros to € 3400 Euros (Allowances not included). That is for a normal working hours of 38.5 hours per week.
When you work during the weekends, at night or national holidays, you get some allowances (20% - 30% allowances money on top)

Of course, a shared apartment will be arranged for you initially. You can usually stay there for the duration of the recognition process or probationary period. After that, you'll need to find permanent accommodation. MediNurse, the hospital or nursing home can assist you with this process. Accommodation costs vary depending on the region and can range from €400 to €800 for a room.

Once you start work and move into your accommodation, you will be responsible for paying your rent each month.
The first month's rent will be paid by MediNurse or your employer and you will reimburse this from your second month's salary.

This varies.
After an initial 6-month probationary period, you may be offered a fixed-term contract. These contracts are gradually extended to permanent or indefinite contracts, depending on your integration into the workplace and your work performance.
